War, civil war… act of piracy…

An offshore support vessel was boarded by armed pirates in the Gulf of Mexico and crew and staff took shelter to avoid kidnapping.
The pirates, frustrated, looted the ship and took many autonomous breath devices, communications’ equipment and other valuable items. Luckily, nobody was injured.

During such situations, the mainstream covers will provide cover for the various physical damages, medical bills etc…

But if the ship loses time either because some of the damages need immediate repairs or part of the crew needs to be replaced, the loss of earnings during the repairs or wait, will be for owner’s account unless a specialist cover is in place.

Whilst, financially, not a particularly serious event and the maximum delay being probably less than a week, even a few days’ loss will be a frustrating thought, when considering that :

There is a “not mainstream” cover that can make…

"...The loss of the owner stop after only one day."
